Reflecting On Christmases Past

We had a beautiful white Christmas!

I love the snow. Especially when I have a little time off and I don't need to go anywhere.

But, during this Christmas season I can't help but wonder what it must have been like that night, over 2,000 years ago, when Christ our Saviour was born. What was the weather like in Bethlehem? Was it cold? Was Mary afraid? How old was she? Women married young back then and she and Joseph were not yet married, so it is likely that she was what we consider a young girl. A child herself, really.

And there she was. In a foreign city, with her husband to be, about to give birth to Jesus. There was no doctor, no hospital, not even a bed. There was no demerol and no epidural, either. She probably didn't have the opportunity to attend child birth classes, and her mother couldn't be there. And rather than being pampered as a mother to be, she spent the day riding into town on a donkey.

It couldn't have been easy - but it was all a part of God's plan.

After all, her son, the Christ child was to become the Saviour of the World. The Sacrificial Lamb of God that took on the burden of our sins.

The LAMB of God was born and He alone is why we celebrate this wonderful Christmas Season!

HE IS THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL!
(AND - I have a new nativity set. I got a Fisher Price Nativity that can be set low for Grace and any future grandchildren to play with. I wanted a completely 'accessible' Jesus. One that never needs to be placed out of reach. And one that will teach the Reason for the Season for years to come)

A Christmas Blessing

Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God is able to do exceeding abundantly

above all that we ask or think!

And yesterday, I was blessed with the opportunity to photograph

an answer to many, many prayers.

And, I believe little Cooper is indeed much more than

Melissa and Shawn had asked for.

Who knew he would be this beautiful? Or, that

he would bring this much JOY! Congratulations to

the Jones and Hall families as they share in

this wonderful little creation that

God has given them.

He is a blessing.... and a wonderful expression of God's love!

Where's The Line to See Jesus?

This video was shared with me by Ricky Brandon and it really touched my heart. It's really something we should think about this.... and every Christmas Season!

More Hats!

Here is Little Miss Katelyn

The Girly Girl Bowteek
Katelyn is not only cute - she is full (and I mean FULL)

Hats Off to Hats and Flowers!

Today I had the pleasure of photographing a VERY BEAUTIFUL
Baby Girl! And, to top that off, she was very cooperative!
So cooperative, that I was able to try out several of the
little hats that Tosha gave me to use as photo props.
When my granddaughter, Grace was born, my sister Sharon gave her a beautiful
hairbow and it soon became our favorite. I found out where it
was made - and ordered more bows so Grace would have one
to match almost all of her little outfits. We love Tosha's hairbows!
So, when I had another baby girl come in wearing a hat
she had gotten from Tosha, I couldn't wait to get some to use as props.
They are just darling! Don't you agree?
The hats came from Tosha Varner at the Girly Girl Bowteek
Thanks Tosha for the beautiful hats and flowers!

And thanks to Baby Sierra for being the beautiful
little angel that she is!

And I should have pictures of another little one soon!
Little Miss Katelyn has agreed to model these
hats for me as well.
(AND - there are MORE hats coming soon)

Enjoying CHRISTmas Vacation

I have been on vacation! I spent some time in Okinawa, Japan visiting my daughter and her family. While I was there I borrowed Amanda from Footsteps Photography's Studio and took CHRISTmas and birthday pictures of my granddaughter, Grace!

Grace is a joy! It was wonderful to get to spend a couple of weeks with her, and I can't wait until I can do it again.
But, for now, I'm back home in Lawton, Oklahoma. And since this blog was started while I was in Japan, I thought that it was only fitting for the first pictures I post to be some of the ones I shot while I was there. So here are a few of my favorites from Grace's CHRISTmas session.
