John Deere Tough!
No doubt about it!
He's energetic. He's tough! He's constantly on the go!
But he can be sweet and gentle if the occasion calls for it. That's one of the many things I love about this little guy! He's as tough as they come, but when he has the opportunity to hold or help care for his baby brother, he knows how to be gentle and sweet..... and protective!
Isn't it amazing how we can see character developing in a child at such a young age?

Merry CHRISTmas!
Merry CHRISTmas!
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men. Luke 2:14
Me.... personally, I am feeling very grateful this CHRISTmas season! I am expecting to have my husband, all of my children and all of my grandchildren under one roof enjoying the day together.
What could be better?
CHRISTmas is a time for family! A time to reflect on all of the blessings we've received over the years, and a time to bless others!
This Nativity Ornament was a gift.... given to me by my father in law last CHRISTmas! It had belonged to my mother in law who we lost in November of 2008. It now hangs in a prominent place on my CHRISTmas tree.... a constant reminder of her.... and of the REAL meaning of this wonderful blessed season!
Thank you, Bill!
I challenge you to read Luke 2 and think back to that first CHRISTmas! Where would be be if God had not sent His son?

Christmas Elves - The Sequel
The little Christmas Elves that came to see me not too long ago were back the other day without their cousins. Aren't they cute?

The Quinn Family
Sunday afternoon I did pictures for the Quin Family at the Mattie Beal Historical Home. It was a time that worked well for them, because everyone could be there.
I don't know that it is the best, but in it I see a mother who is radiant with love for her boys!
If you can SEE love.... this is what I think it might look like!
I like this one, also! It's more formal and I like that, but I am still partial to the look of love!
And - isn't this family cute?
And - isn't this family cute?
Their kids are adorable! They were also very well behaved!
And here are the Grandparents with all of the Grand Children.
Grand Children are such a blessing. In Psalms we are told that one of the blessings of a God-fearing man is to see thy children's children.
Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel. Psalm 128:6
Let us never forget what a blessing it is to be able to spend time with our families during the Christmas season. And let us remember that our children and grand children are blessings from God Himself. Let us give thanks for what we have and enjoy our loved ones while we can. After all, not everyone has received the Blessings on the House of the God-fearing as they are described in Psalms 128.

Playing At The Mall and Seeing Santa!
This post is from last week.... I just have several post in my blogger waiting to be posted, so I'm just now getting to it. And now it seems old.... because at the bottom it says Grace is a not quite two year old, and she's turned two since it was written.
Grace and I played at the mall playground while Heather shopped!
Graced climbed up on the bear and jumped off!
Graced climbed up on the bear and jumped off!
Then she climbed way up to the top of the drum set...... and she slid down on her tummy!
We waited for Dustin to join us on his lunch break and we went to see Santa!
Our local mall will allow you to take pictures with your own camera if you purchase a package of theirs. So, we got a package of pictures and I took a few of my own.
Then we went to lunch! With a not quite two year old, lunch comes AFTER pictures!

Happy Birthday, Grace!
She's turning, two!
Time goes by so quickly. It seems like just yesterday we were in the hospital admiring her chubby little cheeks and wondering if she might have red hair.
Now, she's walking and talking and turning every day into a new adventure.
And - we haven't done her Two Year Old Pictures, yet.... so these will just have to do!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRACE! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

Madelyn, Jack & Geoffrey
We did Madelyn, Jack & Geoffrey's pictures outdoors. Geoffrey is only about 6 months old here, but he is already pulling up. He's growing up way too fast, so we wanted to get some pictures of him before he got much bigger!
This collage is something I call a Name Blessing. It has his name, the meaning of his name, and a scripture for each letter. These scriptures are chose individually for each child. I don't recall ever using any of these verses in a Name Blessing before and they're not exactly typical of the verses I normally use, but I do feel that they special meaning for Geoffrey!
Geoffrey..... God's peace.... what a beautiful name for a very special boy!
And here is more of Geoffrey! If you've followed my blog long, you might remember when he was born. If not, you can see his Hello Baby Slideshow by clicking HERE
Isn't he just so sweet!

And this is Jack! When Jack was little he was often accompanied by a well loved bear. The last two times I've done pictures of Jack, the bear had been left behind, so I guess Jack is growing up, too. In these pictures, I can look into his eyes and see that he's beginning to resemble his Daddy! Their eyes catch the light the same way and they have that same radiant glow about them. They have deep, thoughtful eyes!
And Jack has always had a big beautiful smile! He's about the happiest child I can think of. So full of joy and the adventure of childhood. He's all boy and he gets his share of bumps and bruises, but he also has lots of fun!
I've taken Madelyn's picture since she was a baby, and she's always a joy! She's wise beyond her years and her love for God and His creation is contagious. She has such a pure and gentle spirit and she says the most amazing things. I consider myself blessed to be her friend!

River Marek Thompson
This is River!
Isn't he sweet?
Isn't he sweet?
He's got the sweetest little personality and I was happy to have caught a few shots that really brought that out!
Here he is with Santa!
And here he is nibbling on his toes! Yum! Christmas cookies would probably be a bit better, but Santa must have eaten them all! Of course.... he needed them. He's looking a little thin. I wonder if Mrs. Clause might be a little under the weather? Or, maybe... his doctor has put him on a diet?
Has anyone else noticed that Santa seems a bit thinner this year?
