Basketball, Basketball, Basketball....

We have been busy shooting team and individual basketball pictures. We do the sports pictures for the local YMCA, so they are keeping us pretty busy right now and it won't be long before the school teams start calling. Basketball is a busy season and I love shooting the same kids over and over again. I like seeing how they've grown and changed from year to year and from season to season. There are some little players that I see several times a year because they play basketball, soccer, flag football, wee-ball (t-ball for 3 & 4 yr. olds), summer basketball, fall soccer, fall football and then basketball again.

A Cool Giveaway!

I just saw where Jenn from 11th Heaven's Homemaking Haven was having a cool giveawy. She is giving away a really cool flippin' waffle maker. To see how to win go here!

My Reception Area!

I have had an empty reception area for over a year now and have finally begun to furnish it. I had my heart set on a beautiful victorian sofa with a rounded back and lots of carved wood - but since victorian furniture is hard to find and I am tired of looking I've taken a totally different approach. I decided to cater to my smallest clients - and get something that would make their visit to the studio much more fun! And - should I ever find just the right Victorian Sofa - this can always go out into the backyard! Anyway - here is my new furniture! Now, I need a couple of cute chairs and some accessories and since my theme for the room is "at the park" I need to be shooting new photos for the walls!

Save the Date!

I've been busy working on Save the Date cards for Millie and Ryan's upcoming wedding! This is what I've came up with, so far! I sure hope Millie likes it. But, if not, I'll go back to the drawing board and start all over. Aren't they a cute couple? And not only are they cute, they're a bundle of fun! Congratulations to Millie & Ryan!

Your Name In Pictures Giveaway

I have teamed up with Brandi from My Kitchen to Yours to do a Your Name in Pictures Give Away! So - if you'd like to win your name in pictures, go to Brandi's blog to see how you might win. I've been following Brandi's blog and have tried several of her recipes. I'll have to say that it has really livened up mealtime at our house.

Playing With The Alphabet!

I'm still playing with my alphabet letters. I've now got templates saved, so I can just replace the letters to create a new word or name. These are some I did today!

Monday, January 11, 2010

Today, the weather was finally nice! I decided to take advantage of it and I took my dog on a long walk and prepared for my Photography Class at the same time. I took my camera along and I shot the alphabet. I got every letter, and I got most of them several times.
So, if you're in my photography class and you're reading this, you're getting a clue to what is going to be your next assignment.
I used some of the letters I shot today to create a nice piece of wall art for the guest room. It's a 10x20 and it's going to go into a black frame similar to the digital one shown.

One Cute Kid!

Today I had the pleasure of taking pictures of Bravyn....
who is one cute kid!
I've been taking pictures of this little guy since he was one day old, and I'm amazed by how much he's grown and changed.

This is probably one of my favorites!

But then, I really like this one. As you can see
he is all BOY!

This one is just too cute!

And here he is in what was probably was his favorite pose -
because anywhere close to his Mom is probably his favorite place. It's obvious that this little
guy is a Momma's Boy. His whole face lights up the moment she looks at him. And, I think the feeling is mutual. Bravyn has a great Mom!

Hunting...... Vegetarian Style!

It's supposed to get really cold again, so I decided to get out of the house while the weather was nice today. It got up to almost fourty degrees, but it is supposed to be in the teens later this week and throughout the weekend.

So - I went hunting! I hunt vegetarian style - with a camera, rather than a gun.
(my son Andrew would be so proud of me)
It works well because there are no licenses to buy and whatever I happen to see is always in season. Today, it was Canadian Geese and Whitetail Deer.

This is my favorite shot of the day! A Canadian Goose in flight!
And this pair of deer were hidden back in the woods beside a creek.
Here is the younger one by itself. It was more curious than afraid. But, when I tried to get closer both mother and baby ran away.

And this is what you might see if you slow down enough to LOOK! I barely saw these two and walked right up on them. I had seen deer in the area before and was walking as slowly and as quietly as possible. They blended into the environment so nicely - that I almost missed them.
